The AM profile cylinder is a specific Mercury profile-body series. VS Enterprises supplies it from Noida, mainly as an exact replacement on machines already built with Mercury AM cylinders.
The AM profile cylinder follows the profile-body design: an aluminium barrel with a smooth outer profile and provision for position sensing. Because it is a Mercury series, buyers usually search for it by the "AM" code printed on the nameplate.
What sets the AM series apart: an extra-long guided piston with low-friction 'U' seals and an unbreakable rubber magnet built in for reed switch actuation, plus 'T' slots on all sides (up to Ø100) for easy, tool-free sensor mounting. The piston rod is centreless-ground and hard chrome-plated for a longer service life, and end covers are low-weight, pressure die-cast aluminium alloy rather than heavier cast options. Mounting threads follow the VDMA standard, so any mounting accessory — clevis foot, pivot flange, trunnion, rod eye, and more — bolts on without needing to dismantle the cylinder. A fine-control cushion screw with a lock also guards against accidental loosening during operation.

A few practical details to help you frame your next engineering project.
If both follow ISO 15552 and have the same bore, stroke, and mounting, they are generally interchangeable. Share the old model code and we will confirm.
One popular ISO 15552 series is called the DNC — and in India, the name stuck as shorthand for the whole standard, not just that one brand's line.
